All the rain we got this spring with the current temperature pattern is a winning formula.
Hmmm. Your max temp was 83. Hartford was 87. It's easier to get hotter with a dry ground. At least it seems like that everytime we have well below normal precip. As soon as the warmth comes in it seems to be easy for temps to spike
Not sure exactly the best way to compare given the latitude difference but as far as the departures go, since the start of the warmth CT is more above normal then KY.

Look at the upcoming forecast of Bridgeport and then for Lexington.
Hartford is similar to here, not sure why your area is so much cooler.

Water temps still in the 40s. very cold for this time of year but yeah, water is the reason even if it was above normal for this time of year.
Every Spring it's the same thing, sea breezes keep southern CT cooler. Bridgeport especially which is right on the water.
In fact, the average max temp is cooler in southern CT than it is for Northern for 5 months a year. By September Hartford Max Average catches up and eventually gets cooler than Bridgeport.
1 month the monthly mean is cooler.
Bridgeport avg minimums are always warmer though..

Over 10F some days just seems extreme. You don't see that kind of difference in Florida.
21.1C (70F) reported in SE Finland today, the highest temp so far this year. Considering that the previous high was from 12 April just shows how cool we have been.
Oh come on! Its the 6th May no one wants snow now!
