It cools down pretty slowly until midnight I find, then a quick dip after that..

We can have a day that is 24C with a low of 18C
We can have a day that is 30C with a low of 16C
We can have a day that is 30C with a low of 20C
We can have a day that is 27C with a low of 18C

It really varies, our highest temperature is reached around 4pm-5pm, and with our sunsets being after 9pm until late July, so usually on an average July day it will still be 20C-21C at sunset.

Last year, 29C at 4pm, 23C at midnight, 18C at 6am next day

An average 24C/14C July day in London, the first one that I found.

24C high reached early afternoon, actually dropping by 4pm probably due to cloud, but still 22C at 7:30pm, still pleasant enough to sit outside. 20C until about 9:30 after sunset

Exactly. I think I like summer nights better than the days lol. I don't like getting tanned or sunburned anymore due to all the risks with skin damage. I enjoy hanging outside on summer nights though. I prefer though that we don't warm up too fast. I would like an average May. Was too hot for sleeping last night and I am not putting on the AC in early May. I also like to enjoy locally grown strawberries. As soon as the heat comes they are done. I want to enjoy them a little longer.

You can see how quickly we have warmed up from May 1st to May 5th. We've gone up 21F on the high temp. Too quick for me. 85/62F is June weather not May.

May 1st 64/49F
2nd 74/47F
3rd 81/49F
4th 85/54F
5th 85/62F

I'm back in jersey for this weekend, and was expecting cooler weather moving from the deep south. Instead, I have to experience mid 80's with humidity in early may. Sucks to turn on the A/C so early . Also, it looks like may will be well above average with the sustained heat.

What I hate the most is a period of pleasant weather being substituted by Heat & Humidity.

Believe it or not, I'd rather have a very warm night then a hot day. Something about that sunlight during the day that's not pleasurable when air temps are hot as is.. I tan very easily with my olive skin so I worry about that too since a family member did get skin cancer from the sun.

But around here a warm night in Spring/Summer = Mugginess, so its a no win for me so my choice is to take a cool night after a very warm day.

Philly's warmest 1st 6 days of May since 2010 and before that was 2001. Many folks in the Northeast not often get this hot, this early, this many times. More coming now next 5 days.

On that related note... Precip departures last 14 days (when the warm pattern really started), I'm under 1/4% of what I should have.
