Local news station is more aggressive on rain chances this week, while NWS gives just a slim chance on Thursday. "Taosty temps".

Still snow in northern New Brunswick. Bathurst in northern New Brunswick along the coast is 77°F (25°C) right now. Not sure how to find current snow depth information.

Most recent Canadian data suggests it's gone:

Yet again for May, western Massachusetts is one of the hottest places in the eastern US

A map of today's highs at some unofficial stations, a few stations might not be believable but most stations agree with each other:

As bad at this heat wave is, I'd rather something like this happen in early May than in early October. *shudder* I still remember how awful early October 2013 was. AC's set up so it might as well be summer for me anyway. Typical summer temperatures. Hopefully it's balanced by some cooler than normal periods.

So true. Saving grace is that its not muggy! 6pm Dewpoints. But on the other hand that required this...

Red Flag Warnings except in CT & RI.. Wonder why

Current 850mb temps. Surface same in New England as Florida but Florida temps are normal where as New England is well above. 850mb temps are normally in the single digits (C)

Polar jet stream way up in Canada where its actually snowing around the Hudson Bay right now.

If I was living there, I'd be lol.

Are the leaves unfurling at a super-rapid rate now?

I just turned on the AC after an amazing stretch of zero climate control. It's been a great spring, actually - but like all good things, it had to end some time.

Summer has arrived for good down here, and it's gonna be a long, LONG 5 months til October..sniff sniff. Paris better be nice and cool when I'm there.
