Congrats on your white Christmas. At least it feels like Christmas in the south, freeze all the way down into Florida tonight.

Current snow cover according to TWC's map. More places than usual have a White Christmas this year, but as has been so common in the past 2 years the Northeast has been left out of the action:

Since this map approximately designates those areas which have a White Christmas, I created another map more clearly denoting where there is a Brown Christmas, and White Christmases are divided into less than one foot and more than one foot. Check out the immense area of the United States that has a Brown Christmas, and then consider that that area is smaller than what it usually is; you can now see just how little of a winter the United States as a whole has. Also notice how small the area is that has more than a foot on the ground, though this is less important for obvious reasons (6 inches is plenty for a proper White Christmas).

Probably not updated because there was lots of squalls that dropped snow which didn't melt in southern NY and CT.

Enough to dress up the landscape for a White Christmas morning here with the 3rd quarter moon

Even Islip on Long Island has a White Christmas. Almost 1.6 inches of snow fell there.

Reports from NWS NY of the squalls

Merry Christmas
Same on Long Island, except it dropped over an inch in a span of 10 minutes. It was unreal and unlike anything I've ever seen before.

It was like a microwaveable white Christmas, it came out of nowhere and transformed the landscape in a matter of minutes.

Here's a map that's picking up the squall line last night to parts of the NJ/NY/CT coast

Great pictures, all, nothing up here except cold, it's 4F.

I can't ever remember having a squall like that in CT!

Merry Christmas everyone.

Merry christmas everyone:

No snow here, but an inch of snow just 5 miles south. Weird squall lines yesterday night as the weather station was reporting snow, while we didn't get any. I did see snow when I was driving back from my uncles house though. We were thoroughly missed out. Right now, its 19 F with clear skies going up to 29 F with sunshine.
