We're dry here as well. Only 5 mm / 0.2" since the beginning of the month, and January was already dry.
7/-4°C (45/24°F) an sunny today. Mid-fifties fahrenheit are forecasted for the end of the week, but it shall stay cooler here than across the Channel. A sign that "winter" isn't over yet.
Your local ski area is close to closing? It must be a mild winter.
Mid August would be the peak of the season here. The biggest snowfalls are usually during spring. Is it the same there?
I heard end of February, but I'm not sure. No matter how good the winter is, they always close by March 15th or so. The last two winters were excellent (consistently cold and snowy). This year we struggled to open at the end of December. Fortunately most nights were below freezing, so it wasn't a complete dud of a season. Conditions may have been decent for all I know, I didn't get a chance to get on the mountain this year.
Biggest snowfalls here are usually Dec, Jan, and Feb, but it can snow anytime from November to April. We've had blizzards in April. What's the elevation and average snowfall in your region?
With the way the weather has been, maybe the waterpark will be open by April. Lol jk.
