Fair enough. Snake pass gets really treacherous in snowy/icy conditions.

No snow. 1.6" of rain so far. Continuing throughout the night.

Might turn to sleet or snow at some point late in the night.

Very windy and wet in Edinburgh.

The temperature went up from a max of 5 or 41 yesterday, through the night to 10 or 50f this morning.

Now it's falling again, currently 8c at 12:30pm.

This rainstorm brings the year to date precipitation totals to 60.45 inches. Record is 63.41 inches (in 2008). So, possibly the wettest year on record but more likely the 2nd wettest.

We had an intense squall just now.. the very heavy rain was driven even harder by the gusty winds.. the roads were briefly turned to rivers and my garden paths were submerged

Temperature exceeded 10c/50f for the first time in over a week here.. back down though

Completely the opposite year. For a large area of the country, including Leeds, this year might end up one of the driest, if not, the driest on record. Even an above average December won't be enough..
