Neat place to camp! I love those old lookouts!

Been nice here, nothing to post about, been busy on projects, sorry for no pictures! May get some rain this week, fall is coming!

It raining right now in Vancouver... Finally!!! Our state really needs the rain after our long dry summer and fires still burning. I'm hoping the east side gets some since they're experiencing the worst of it. I've got plans to visit Leavenworth during Octoberfest. But with their nearby fire, I'm not sure it will be a good idea. No rain in their forecast yet.

The weather's been beautiful and dry like an endless summer. The only downside is the smoke that keeps coming and going degrading air quality. Looks like that hasn't impacted SW WA.

Beautiful sunset tonight indeed, Ruth. That's a nice pano taking it all in!

We've been fortunate this year to not have as many fires burning near us vs. prior years. It sounds like mayfair may be getting more of the smoke in her neck of the woods. I know there are some larger fires east of Seattle which may send smoke that direction depending on the wind.

I'm watching a big fire near Leavenworth right now since I have a trip planned out there in a few weeks. They're not having a good time of it with the endless summer and lack of any rain. They're still in the 80s with no rain in the forecast. With so many complaining about our rainy spring this year, I bet most know are tired with the lack of it by now. This reminds me too much of CA with not enough seasonal change. I'm ready for fall to start cooling down. Here's a couple pics from Vancouver today which started the best with rain! Then, it finished with some nice clouds.

Today was a nice day for a fall colors hike in our local mountains. I love the changing of the seasons and the beauty that it brings.

Here's a good article on the wildfire smoke: https://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2022/...ss-summer.html

There's just a haze in the distance and a light smell of smoke here today, but other areas are getting it worse.

I can see a smoky haze right now.
It’s not really nice thick and it’s about 150 off the ground.
It looks thicker towards the sequim area.

Vancouver is warm today in the 80s with clear skies and no smoke or haze. Here's a few photos from this morning's paddle.

We have been in a fog bank this morning and it just started to clear this last 90 minutes.
We had about 40 yards of visibility at dawn and now I can see the hills across the way.

My 2 potato patches are ready and waiting to be harvested.
We don’t have much in the changing of the seasons color wise on our yard.
It’s mostly pine needles.

Our lawn is looking really ratty from the neglect of me being gone.
I’m just about to give it a cut and a soak.
It should shape up in a week or so.

Overall this foggy weather feels really nice and I’m digging it .
