Really nice morning and rather crisp temp wise @46 degrees.
This last several weeks we have had our patio door in our bedroom open all night.
Sometimes with fan, sometimes not.
Yesterday I smoked some ribs and the wind made my smoker want to run hot.

The wife and I are taking a class this Saturday.
This morning she complained that it was going to be 87.
It was 116 at our place in California the other day so 87 should be easy.
I think our 87 degrees here might seem hotter than 87 there because of humidity.
Either that or I’m turning into a wimp .

The day here is off to a good start.
Eastern view.

The weather is so amazing (sunny, light breeze, crisp, 70s, 50s at night), as it often is in early September (not always) that anyone visiting now will probably want to move here. This is the month that memories of winter finally fade and there's nothing to do but think WA is paradise. Right now it's as close to perfect as weather gets (north of Everett).

Well, we have smoke this afternoon, from the fire up in Packwood, thanks to some off-shore air flow reversing our normal wind direction.

High fire risk for the next couple days because of the dry off-shore winds.

Everything is sepia tones.

I saw smoke as well.
It wasn’t really thick but rather more of a haze looking north at the San Juan islands and the Victoria area.
Where was/is the fire at?

The one I think is the biggest culprit for our smoke is still burning at Packwood. - On Hwy 12, SW WA.

Sequim bay has more smoke this morning.
It’s not really bad.
The peaks 10-12 miles away are still visible but are hazy.
Late yesterday afternoon there was a noticeable light smoke line 2-3 hundred feet above the bay.
The air continues to be odorless and there is no wind to speak of.

Ours is better this morning, but I don't think the fire's out, it's just the wind has shifted. Not as brown out, but the light has a yellow look to it.

Our smoke is bad (north of Everett) today. I can feel it in my lungs and it's obscuring the hills and treetops in the distance. It's not good for hiking or any outdoor activities. I think our smoke is coming from the north.

Edited to add: Fire near Skykomish with evacuations. That could be the source of the heavy smoke which is giving everything a yellow tint.

Same here, we are staying inside today. Its a bummer because we've really only got a few weeks left before its atmospheric river and monsoon season again. Several fires in the North Cascades on both the US and Canadian sides.

There is lots of smoke in southern WA today as well from multiple OR fires burning. While yesterday wasn't bad, the wind switched from the southeast today. So, it will likely go down as the smokiest day of the summer here. The forecast is for these high winds to die down tonight into tomorrow. So, hopefully, the smoke and air will clear.

While this summer has been one of the nicest in Western WA in terms of clean air along with fewer fires after the longer rainy season, the lack of rain over summer has finally begun taking its toll. I'm really looking forward to the rains starting up again. Here's a pic from today. I'm avoiding going out until the bad air clears.
