It’s really nice outside right now but it’s supposed to get really hot today.
Apple weather says it will be 83 in Blyn today.

83 is really nice if you are boating not so much if you are helping your kid with drywall .

This heat has really taken a toll on my lawns so I’ve been moving around a portable sprinkler every 30 minutes or so.
There was a sprinkler system here but it’s completely kaput so one day….

It's been lovely, if too hot, for the past week.... We've been busy with work and remodeling and chores and just dealing with the heat. Nice clear skies this summer though! SO far!

Our eaglets have grown up and the family has now left for other adventures... If they stay true to habit, the parents will return and start nest-prepping again around Thanksgiving. :-)

With them gone, though, we had opportunity finally to get our drone up again and take some closeups of the nest. It's interesting how it has evolved over time, I'll post a link here to the nest album so you can see how it has changed over time if you're interested!

And then a wider view of our place on Scatter Creek and the Rochester Prairie area

Those pictures are really cool.
I’ve never seen changes through time on nest pics like that before.
Thank you.

Couple questions,
Where or rather how far do you think they have to travel for food.
And idea what their main diet consists of?

Happy to share them! We are still fascinated by them, and we watch them every day. We watched them leave and come back with meals... sometimes they'd be gone a long time, sometimes minutes. We have the wildlife area that has that large open space just south of us. Lots of game birds and varmints there... Some fish in the creek.

If you look in other albums of pictures, many posted from this past season, we have pictures of them bringing home furry varmints, probably rabbits and squirrels, chickens (but never ours, who live right under the nest), ducks, fish, a snake - one time I think they brought back another raptor baby... I think there's a large bone in the nest from something like a deer. They wouldn't be able to kill a deer, but they might feed from one that they found. They are opportunists. We're quite a ways inland. Eagles near you on the water probably eat mostly fish.

Today warm one reaching upper 80s in Vancouver. We had a nice sunrise and enjoyed a walk after sunset with temps much cooler. Here's a couple shots of sunrise this AM.

It is mid 60’s here today and very pleasant.

Depending on what I’m doing is how much I enjoy the weather.
Mid 50’s is good for hiking.
Mid 60’s is good for chores.
Mid 70’s is good for bbq and entertaining guests.
Mid 80’s is good for water sports or boating.

I’m ok with temps below mid 50’s because I like snow skiing and can always add a layer.
I’m not liking temps over mid 80’s ever because it means air conditioning.

I know most people like temps a bit warmer.
I like the temps when it feels like natural air conditioning .

Cool weather people will be loving this weekend. 50s overnight, now 60s, overcast that isn't burning off in the afternoon. Mt. Baker hidden by clouds.
