So, at this point surely the OP is moving no where NEAR 17th and Euclid. Would love to know where she ends up though.

I think you should reconsider! There will be crime everywhere. Murders and muggings happen in G'Town all the time but it wouldn't stop me from moving there.

I lived on 16th and euclid in the meridian hill hall. I went to Howard University. i walked euclid street to adams morgan ALL the time to pick up my late night snacks at the DINER or Pizza Mart. I was more scared of the rats in the trash cans then of the people or street itself. I didnt find it unsafe......
