Am I too picky to expect just a smidge of realism in soaps? This story line of asking Maggie to choose which man gets Daniel's heart is the most ridiculous thing i've ever seen.
No ethical hospital or doctor would suggest such a thing even if they could "go off the registry", which is very unlikely. And to ask a mother to make such a decision is beyond cruel and ridiculous. I'd rather have fantasy islands with monsters and unicorns than this kind of ridiculousness.
It really made me angry when Victor mumbled about how he could throw some money at bypassing the line for a heart transplant and then one of the doctors said that "under the circumstances" Brady or Eric could be given Daniel's heart. It is not up to Maggie. It is up to whomever the best recipient is and that is the next person in line on the list.
I have always said that the main thing I didn't like about "Days" is how the wealthy people always got away with murder and were always forgiven their "mistakes" while the poorer people had to pay for theirs.
I wonder if Eric will be charged for his drunk driving. Since Daniel died, the charges should be vehicular manslaughter.

Abby and Chad are breaking my heart ... not. Their problems, compared to what Maggie, Marlena, John, Theresa are going through, aren't even worthy of screen time right now. And then there's the teen angst party ...
Abi is just sickening. Her screaming at Chad about his taking care of her and Thomas is so demeaning. She has a roof over her head and a good job. If he has really rejected her, then she should move on. Of course we know that's not true but she doesn't.
I haven't heard her say she didn't believe he truly didn't love her only whine, whine, whine that he promised to take care of them. Maybe I am not hearing it correctly but it sounds more to me as though she is complaining more that he isn't doing his duty by her rather than he isn't showing his love for her any longer. At least that's how it comes across to me.
She and Chad are both a couple of jerks though. They deserve each other.
I do have to note though, that the way they showed everyone getting the news of the auto accident was done really well. The thing about that show that really gets me is that often the directing is really as good as the plot writing is terrible. It's so unevenly done it's like the different departments are working for two different productions.

I have to agree. Very well done. Many times these soaps will have a guest director or even one of the actors will try directing. Have no idea if it was a new director but it certainly was done very well.
Abigail made me sick, too. After yesterday's episode, I wanted to slap her. Screaming at Chad to "be a father..." There comes a point when you have to realize that you're wasting your breath. But that's Abigail's schtick, and she's done it with just about everyone in her life. She comes off needy and pathetic.

And spoiled rotten. So does JJ. I feel sorry for Gabi who seems to be falling for him just when she is getting her life back together again.
Today they openly talked about Kayla pushing either Brady or Eric up on the transplant list meaning bypassing it altogether. She even said she tried to get a second heart. What kind of ethics is that for the Chief of Staff?

Kayla's qualifications as chief of staff aside - when did she become a doctor, anyway? - all she has to do is rip John's heart out of his chest. I mean, he's all for it!
Ridiculous ...
