If a woman wearing a burka, with a male escort, can get raped, it shows how often there is little women can do to prevent such things. Fact remains that it doesn't matter what she was or wasn't doing, since he was the one committing the crime. All that needed to be done to prevent this was for him to NOT rape her. The blame is with the rapist.
This was not a poor choice. This was a lifestyle decision. I don't believe I know anyone in NYC that leaves there door unlock. This lady is old enough to realize that it might not be a wise decision to leave the door unlock in a jungle city like NYC.

Did you even bother to read my comment where I said she might have been afraid for her daughter? If you are going to attack my post then read the whole comment, it wasn't that long.

It's terrible she was raped, and 100% of the blame goes to the rapist.

That being said, half way down the page, I realized a lawsuit would be coming soon. She left her freaking door open. That enabled this crime much more than any actions of the building, doorman, pizza company, etc. now, she's just looking to take advantage of a terrible situation.

Yes, I'm too afraid to leave my house or talk to any of my friends. Too afraid to go to the gym. So let me give my name and story to the local papers.

I had a friend who lived in a doorman building. She NEVER locked her door, not even when she went out. I told her she was nuts. She said "nobody in buildings like this ever locks their door". I told her I would bet all of them lock their doors. She insisted that no one does. She would tell me when I came over to "just come in". Once the concierge calls her to 'announce' me, I can just come up and walk in and don't knock. I never felt comfortable doing that and would still knock.

In this case, didn't the woman say she left the door unlocked because her parents lived on the same floor and it was just easier to have the door unlocked so they could come/go as they pleased?

Also, didn't this delivery guy admit to burglarizing many apartments this way? (by checking to see if doors were unlocked)

This case raises some questions

1. Who the hell keeps their doors unlocked in an NYC building?
2. 211 units in this building, how did he know this door was unlocked?
3. 16 yr old Boy just happened to decide to commit rape in a building w/cameras, a doorman and/or reception desk that checked him in?

Daughter next to her sound asleep? Lady didn't struggle or scream? If so, maybe daughter would have awakened or neighbors would have come checked on her. Boy rapes even though the pizza co. he worked for could help police identify and arrest him?

He has to be the dumbest guy in the world or she lustfully baited him so she could sue. I'm curious as to the facts and evidence of this case rather than it's narrative of the victim
Another big question: If she is so thoroughly traumatized WHY in the world does she still live in that building and that apartment? How can she still live there and sleep in that same room/bed where that happened to her? That is the note that rings the most false to me. Because if it happened to me, I could not bear to be in that apartment for one second if I was a traumatized as she claims to be, which she claims she is like a war criminals' victim or something, like she has extreme combat PTSD. Think about it. Could you live in a place where something like that happened and sleep in a bed where something like that happened if you had the extreme combat like PTSD symptoms she claims to have? She is looking for big money and exaggerating to the fullest.

Did she ever hear of giving her parents a thing called a key? This is just nonsense. She is just trying to get out of her own responsibility in it for keeping her door unlocked.

I agree with you. So traumatized, but her face is on the front page of major NYC newspapers in living color. Yeah sure. It's all about the money.
