Yes, but I think there must be a lot of unsolved crimes. Pedophiles, from what I've heard, don't just stop at one kid, so there is a very good chance he will be caught in another crime.
How someone could do such a crime is totally beyond my imagination. They are like another breed hiding in human clothing. The sexual urge certainly takes some into weird places. I know some of these guys were molested themselves as kids, but from what I hear the great majority were not. I think they must be born that way.
I have also heard that a lot just sit at home with kitty porn and never assault an actual child.
You are correct they don't. Every pedophile that has ever been caught, convicted, that I know of has done molested more than one victim. It's been 15 years and still nothing that even remotely resembles her murder has come up makes me think it was one of the Ramsey's.

There have been many pedophiles caught since this atrocity. Kids disappear daily. The US is a big place. Pedophiles are actually able to drive.
Actually, neither of the Ramseys, before or after, have ever been witnessed as being inappropriate or unnaturally attracted to children.
This is just remaining as one of many unsolved murders. It's a shame that it cannot be wrapped up in a neat little package as the tv real murder programs present, but in the real world not everything is so cut and dried.

Patty Ramsey did it...John Ramsey helped cover it up...My conscience is clear and I rest well knowing what justice Jon Benet was denied here on earth she has gotten now with the death of Patsy Ramsey.
I found that difficult to believe for years. But, I think you may be right.
I know because when we look at people like the Ramsey's it's hard to believe evil can come in such attractive all American packaging!!The police were fooled at first too! It's hard to wrap your head around!!

They don't have to be squeaky clean to be innocent. I'm not specifically saying the Ramsey's are pedophiles. But the fact that not one murder even slightly resembles this case does make it more suspicious on the Ramsey's. There are many families that seem so innocent to the outside world and yet we find years later they beat their children or there was molestation happening in secret. There are many pedophinles who only molest their own children and some other children. Some go for girls, some for boys and some for both. Truthfully I do find it strange for any parent to dress their own 5 year old daughter up as a sexy adult woman.

I just don't see it as a likely since it's been so long now and not one thing has shown up in the police data base or anywhere on record.
I wouldn't want it on my conscience to accuse anyone who's innocent either but I wouldn't just not include them as suspects just because they didn't seem attracted to children. There are so many who only choose their own children and look how that child was dress up to appear, sorry but that just isn't right or normal IMO.

I'm not sure Wecht went that far?I think there are some artifacts that appear on a girls body after strangulation that can make it appear like there was trauma to an area without there having been any. But in any event even if there was evidence of prior sexual abuse that doesn't clear Patsy of murder either!
Cyril Wecht entered the case via a phone call from a supermarket tabloid, the Globe. He did not know the case he was being asked to review, only told that it was on the “west coast.” When he got the photos, he realized the case was that of JonBenet Ramsey. From what he could see, he thought she had been bound with the intent to restrain, not kill. It even hinted of a sex game gone wrong. The fact that the killer had written a ransom note as an afterthought, rather than bringing it along, also seemed strangely unprepared for a kidnapping, as did the note’s complexity, content and length. Wecht decided that molestation was the primary motive and that the death itself was accidental.
As he paid attention to the case and read the portion of the autopsy report that was released, he noted items that supported the likelihood of chronic sexual abuse—that is, her vaginal injury had notoccurred at the time of the crime. It may have been done by a finger or some object, not via outright rape, but he believed it was clear that before the murder someone hadbehaved inappropriately with the child.
People both inside and outside of the investigation reacted to that statement.
Yet as more of the autopsy report was released, he felt more certain of his analysis, and recent events appear to bear him out.
“I have learned that the police called in three separate child sexual abuse experts,” he reports. “They separately and independently came to the same conclusion that there was evidence of prior sexual abuse. Not that I needed anybody to hold my hand, but for saying that same thing I took abuse on national television from self-appointed Ramsey defenders and sycophants. But it’s the most ridiculous thing in the world, a little girl with half of the hymen gone and she’s dead, and you’ve got a tiny abrasion, a tiny contusion and a chronic inflammation of vaginal mucosa. That means it happened more than 72 hours earlier; we don’t know how long, or how often it was repeated, but chronic means it wasn’t from that night. This was a tragic, tragic accident. This was a game that had been played before.”
Wecht was also troubled by the blow to the head, an eight-and-a-half inch fracture that had split the bone. Around it was an area of hemorrhaging, while under the skull there had been more bleeding, but the report on that was a surprise. There was much less blood found than he had expected. He believed that meant that at the time of the blow, she’d had a relatively weak, even nonexistent, heartbeat.
