That's weird. I know quite a few hispanics who are from the country who have pretty solid Texan accents. Then again, I'm pretty sure they're third or fourth generation. Plus, I met them in college so I guess that's more a matter of assimilation, being middle class, etc.

I have noticed that black guys who have grown up in the country and rodeo have a Texan accent.

Interesting. My co-teacher (we "manage" a special ed high school behavior problem class) is hispanic, and while he doesn't have what I would call a true "Texas accent", it isn't exactly "typically hispanic" either...
