Houston has more pine trees. Tall pine trees at that. The trees in Dallas are like bushes .

Asians

Chicago 429,553
Houston 245,418

Hispanics
http://mumford.albany.edu/census/His...TotHspSort.htm

Chicago 1,416,584
Houston 1,248,586

Breakdown of Hispanics
Mexicans
Chicago 1,117,025
Houston 994,856

So Chicago has more Mexicans than any city in Texas.
Puerto Ricans
Chicago 159,859
Houston 15,629

Just to save the trouble. Chicago has more Cubans, Dominicans, and South American population (but the South American population is not by much). Houston has a higher Central American population. Give credit to El Salvador for that one.
Considering that there are many other races and nationalities, this still does not tell me that Chicago is more diverse than Houston.

Chicago also has a larger black population.
Lol. That's not going to last long at all. In twenty years, if Houston has not already surprassed Chicago in the number of blacks, it will be mighty close to it.

Well I never stated that Chicago is more diverse than Houston. I said if anything, they are equal or about the same. But you stated that even Chicago could not match Houston when it comes to diversity and that is false. Chicago has a larger hispanic, black, and asian population. If I wanted to give more links showing the different nationalities, I would have.

Seems to me this Austinite doesn't know what she's talking about.
I know what I know....in my opinion, Dallas and Houston are suburb hubs. No offense, some people love that. I'm not trying to be offensive, there are plenty of people who don't want to live in a city like NY or SF. They *like* the suburbs. 'Nuff said....

NEXT!
Never said that Austin is a real city and Houston/Dallas aren't. All I said is that if I had to choose between Houston and Dallas, I would choose neither. Too big, too bland, too suburban. My top Texan cities are Austin, San Antonio, Wimberley/Blanco/Fredricksburg and Port Aransas. If I want a city, I go for NY, SF, DC or Chicago.

And Austin isn't? You way off in calling Houston and Dallas "suburb hubs".

This comment basically is the type of comment I have been talking about for the past months. I hope the Houston and Dallas forumers do not get upset, but this is the type of comment you will see from people from SF, Chicago, NY, DC, Boston, Philly, etc. etc. That sunbelt cities are too suburban. They are cities no doubt. But they are very suburban. That's all she is saying.

However, I do find it funny that you list San Antonio. Outside of downtown, San Antonio is even more suburban than both Dallas and Houston.
