I don't know about anyone else, but who is growing tired of the lack of jobs, reasonable rent and the lack of well kept rentals?

Also, what is going on with the sub-standard restaurants here? There are a few good ones left but not many!

This city was OK about 10 years ago when I moved here but it has lost it's appeal to many it seems. What are your thoughts?

Not all parts are horrid. The problem is that the good parts are ruined by bad parts within. Sort of like a strawberry that looks great except for that one little spot that's gone bad.

Escondido is one such place. The front (closest to the 15) is terrible, almost like a ghetto. The farther you go from the 15 the nicer it seems to get.

La Jolla is also nice, but same rule...farther you get from the 52/15 freeways, the better.

Downtown has nice restaurants and what not, but it's not for everyone. Too crowded in San Diego to be appealing to the masses, IMO.

San Diego is a great place to visit, and friends of mine who live there love it.

Rent and home prices are coming down which were a lot of people's biggest gripes. Most of the other negatives don't seem that unique to SD and will probably follow you where you go such as traffic, some crime, etc... The economy is bad everywhere but unemployment here is not quite as bad as other parts of the state.

It's not an easy place to live b/c of the costs but many of us manage to make it work and be happy. I don't have a problem with San Diego OVERALL, although it does have issues but so do all places imo. If I leave its b/c I need a change of scenery for a few years and not b/c I dislike SD, I love this place.

Don't panic and make any rash decisions. Every city and state in this country is reeling from the lousy Republican leadership we've had the previous 8 years. Ineffective policies or no policies domestically and abroad, nearly a TRILLION dollars wasted on a failed war. Cities are reeling from this absolute nonsense.

Sit tight...Barack Obama is on the job. He'll take this country out of this Republican-induced recession by the end of the year and Republican-leaning San Diego like every other city will benefit.

Wow... I've always considered myself liberal... and I voted for the guy... but does anyone actually believe this?

No matter how far prices in San Diego fall or have fallen, homeownership in the desirable areas is still way, way out of reach for most middle-class and many upper-middle-class families.

I love it, find it far more affordable than some other places I've lived (D.C. and the Bay Area), and have a decent job. Maybe the creator of this poll is speaking of his unique situation and is looking for confirmation of his beliefs/decision.

was this post actually serious?

Heavily partisan politics, one thing I definitely DO NOT miss about the Bay Area .
