I want to thank everyone for your replies here. From what we've been told by residents here in Henderson, that we have talked to, and the replies here, we know, without a doubt, we shouldn't be living here in southern Nevada.

Not only will we take a week and drive up in mid June, for a "relocation" thing , but will also be selling our boat before moving this time. We will start it (hopefully) using hose/drive muffs and put it on Lake Mead (again, we hope). If the ramp area isn't deep enough, we simply won't launch it, but will sell it and everything that goes with it.

Again, thanks for the replies/suggestions. Much appreciated!

RosieSD, no, we haven't had our boat out on Lake Mead yet. When we arrived here, it was just too hot. We also had to get the boat registered for Nevada.

We still aren't completely sure we can launch the boat into Lake Mead. The water level, at the launch ramp is pretty low. But, before even thinking about putting it on Lake Mead, we have to make sure the engine will start and run. That is where a hose/outdrive muffs come in. IOW, if we can't get it started, it won't go on the lake and be sold "AS IS".

Sorry to hear that, Baby boomers. After spending the money to transport your boat again and paying to store it in Nevada, it must be frustrating that you haven't been able to use it even once. Hope it sells quickly so you can recoup your losses . Perhaps that will help cover some of the expenses of another move.

We are going to "try" and use it once, but before taking it to the launch ramp area, we have to start the engine first by the boat/trailer storage. Whomever buys it, will get every repair/maintenance receipt we kept since April 2009 along with everything that goes with the boat. It's a 20 foot boat, with the largest V8 engine that can go into a 20 foot boat. When this boat is started and headed out into open lake water, it can definitely GO (up on plain). Can pull skiers and/or tubes. And, we have a tube.

However, keeping all of our freshwater fishing gear, just in case we want to do a little fishing on the shores of Lake Tahoe or somewhere else.

Mike, have already checked it out. Storage fee is way, way over our heads and we are just too old to haul this boat/trailer up the Sierras to Tahoe. Unless we rent one, which isn't cheap either, our boating days are over. We will miss those days, but have plenty of pictures/video of us boating. And, our boat is so old, as in 1992, it's very hard/extremely hard to find a mechanic that would work on it, if needed. Many people who have a boat that old, generally the "man of the house", who knows marine engines, will work on it.

Guess we were lucky in that we had a marine service in northeastern Florida that would work on it and one in northern Colorado that did also. Just like an old/older vehicle, there are marine mechanics that won't touch an old/older boat.

^^I hope you get at least one ride out of it. Some of my best memories are of water skiing on Lake Mead & Lake Mohave with friends.

How many years ago was that, that you water skied on Lake Mead? We have never seen anyone skiing on the lake. In fact, have never seen any boats pulling tubes of kids on the lake either. Definitely not like the Colorado Lakes we've been on.

I thought you haven't been out on Lake Mead yet.

You said you haven't been out on Lake Mead yet, so how would you know this?
