Northwest Bound! (Reno, Henderson, Sparks: apartment, lease, high school)

Been here in Henderson since Sept. 4th and have decided we simply don't like it here. Not going into the different reasons "why", but those folks that have met us here, know why and many understand. Heck, even or new Nevada license plate, that supports both the Reno Rodeo Committee and Nevada High School Rodeo, states why we shouldn't be living here. Our lease ends this coming Sept.. Before then, we will be taking a about a week, driving up there to check it out.

As for our boat, that is in a Lake Mead Recreational Area Boat/Trailer Storage, we will sell it here.

We won't need jobs, but will be renting another apartment. This WILL be our last move, so we'd better like it up there.

We are already packing. IOW, we never "settled in" to the apartment we are currently in.

Any "words of wisdom" from anyone?

Sounds like a good plan. You will for sure enjoy up north better.

dont pigeon hole yourself into thinking reno proper is the place to be - take the time to look at the surrounding areas, like carson city, yerington, fernley, winnemucca

Well, we do have to rent an apartment, no matter where we look in surrounding areas. We are only looking at Carson City, parts of Reno and, if enough time, Sparks.

When you come up don't take 95a. Stay on 95 to Fallon and take a look as you pass through. A left onto Hwy 50 can take you to Carson or you can go into Fernley and get on I-80 to Reno. I say this because the road is much straighter and 95a is just as long because you move slower. Good part of Reno or Carson is medical services. You might want to check out Gardenerville Minden area South of Carson as well.
