OP just needs to list:
  1. Minimum city size
  2. Maximum commute to city with occasionally needed services
  3. Number of PRCA events / yr within 'X' minutes commute
  4. Per capita wearing cowboy hats (differentiated by male and female)
  5. Number of those who might hint to respond improperly if seeing a cowboy hat, snap shirt, boots, or bolo tie. .
  6. # per capita with obvious tatooes
  7. # of stores you can walk into a talk rodeo.
  8. if old codgers go to McDonalds and complain about the region.
My threads have been closed/locked by Mod, but never deleted (that I know of). And, I totally understand why they were closed/locked.

On the "needs to list", we already know a lot of these and will find out more when we visit. All we do know is that we can't move to anywhere in the southwest area due to heat and too much snow (like Flagstaff). Our Nevada license plate, that we got right here in Henderson's DMV, reads The Rodeo State with a cowboy on a horse on the left hand side of the plate. We absolutely love it. In getting it, we contributed to Nevada High School Rodeo Association and two major Nevada rodeos, as in Reno and Las Vegas. We've only seen a couple like it here.

Funny, we buy online from Amazon all of the time. However, that new Amazon in Loveland, CO is huge and will hire a lot of young folks. Please remember, we, can't talk to any young folks about Vietnam, Woodstock, Oldies or Motown music or anything that happened in the 60's, 70's or even 80's.

Do you, at all, know what it's like here in Henderson/Las Vegas area? Even worse!! Besides that, we miss the winter snows. Really.

You may want to check out the link above for some pre-trip reseach.
Thanks so much! We are already starting some online research. A forum member, who lives in the area, already told us that the area would be perfect for us. I even printed out the reply they posted and saving it.

And, if we do move again, after this upcoming move, we won't post or do a thread about it. Keep everything nice and quiet.

You are chasing something that does not exist. You, at your age, should have realized this many years ago. You will never find a true rodeo community unless you live on a rodeo ranch. That should be your next move.

Can see that you know literally nothing about professional rodeo. There is no such thing as a "rodeo ranch". Cattle ranches have their own rodeo association and their rodeo's are different from PRCA rodeos. We've been to a ranch rodeo, so we know.

And, besides that, we aren't necessarily looking for a "rodeo community" as much as we are a community with much less people and real mountains nearby, with pine trees. Not mountains that are just rocks! If it weren't for the pretty harsh winters in northern Colorado, we'd stayed there, but much of the Front Range area is turning into big city now.

We made a mistake moving here and regret that mistake. When we moved back to Colorado, living in Loveland was fine, but within four years, all of that "fine" changed. And, like some long-time residents here have told us, just like those long-time residents in Loveland, "the change wasn't for the good". Thing is, progress goes on, no matter who likes it or not.

So you're expecting Reno (one of the fastest growing job centers in NV) to stay the same? Let alone the Carson Valley which is now a haven for govt/remote workers who want quick and easy access to Lake Tahoe?

People have repeatedly told you this, but you're not going to like the local culture/flavor of Reno and you aren't going to be able to afford the Carson Valley. I still don't know why you aren't considering Fallon, Fernley, or even Dayton because they are more of what you're looking for.
