i would like to sit in the sacred circle.

i spent my life trying to join in with other people's religious visions. During this time I found I was developing my own and so left each. For three years I have been sitting thinking about my own vision, then one day I found that the Liberal Quakers had the vision that I thought was all my own. I can never say that my vision will not change again.

I am part Cherokee and live in the Cherokee Nation. I came here because it felt spiritual the moment we drove into town. I also like the teachings of the American Indians, that is, those that I know. I also feel I came home to the land of my great grandmothers.

I am glad that you joined the circle Mattie Jo. I went to a Friend's college and found their vision was very compatible with my own as well.

In my life I have found community with a variety of religious traditions, the Friends, the church of my family (Universalist), Lakota spirituality and also with a Tao/Buddhist/Shinto blend; I also worked in rural Alabama doing community organization work and became comfortable within the rich tradition of black fundementalism. I am open to the influences of many traditions.....not as a belief system....but as sources of insight, wisdom and comforting.

Hi Matti, it is good to have you here..I went back through this thread just to remind myself of all the wonderful people who share such a desire for peace and understanding through learning about each others belief..What a wonderful lesson this is aout brotherly/sisterly love..Like Orion and many others I never fully leave this circle of love and warmth, a part of me remains here to remind me not to be so quick to judge others beliefs or their paths in this life...

Even though I don't post often, I do come to the circle every day, to visit, to learn, and to feed my spirit. Welcome to those who are new to our circle. May you find as much knowledge, wisdom, acceptance, and comfort being here as I do.
