Owls have fascinated me all my life. I've had them fly over the top of me, as I have walked down the road, or out in the woods. A few times, I've even had them fly over me while I was standing in my backyard. It is an eerie feeling, (for lack of a better description), to realize, at the last moment, that they are so close to you, as they silently glide over. We have a number of Great Horned owls where I live. I love to see them silhouetted against the sky, from the treetops, during the twilight hours, or hear them call.

I hear that owls stick to one mate which would make them rather intelligent, I think; but I also found that they mean ferrocious carnivorism that way. What intelligence they just like to scare you that they are geniuses.

Very pretty song, (especially right now, for me, on a very personal level). I like Tracy Chapman.

Crows, flocks of black crows follow me immediatly before some one I love dies. It started when I lost my dad ten years ago, It happened when I lost each of my brothers in 2002 (murder) and 2008 (cancer), my daughter in 2007 and my husband this past month the only one that was different was when my last brother was sick I was caring for him in his third floor appartment for 3 months, in Seattle, and in the lone pine tree out side his building were 2 black crows perched on a limb out side his window, waiting. Not sure why I am writing this exept I am in a very dark place right now and am looking for some light.
