Bro.Goodpasture, it looks like that the election for Principle Chief of the Cherokee Nation won't be determined until after Oct. 8th.when all the votes will be counted. It seems as though that the 1,200 Freedmen have been given 2 walk in dates for voting, the dates are September 29 and October 6 and only Freedmen that are registered will vote on those two dates. It looks like the Freedmen can make the difference as to who's going to be Principal Chief for the next four years

We are now in the Moon and month of October: the Harvest Moon,Duninudi.
Time of traditional "Harvest Festival" Nowatequa when the people give thanks to all living things of the fields and earth that helped them live, and to the "Apportioner" Unethlana.Cheno i-equa or "Great Moon" Festival is customarily held at this time.

I think October is one of my favorite months of the year for a variety of reasons. I've always intuitively thought it was a great time for reflecting and giving thanks, which I tend to do around the middle of the month.

Is there a particular day that you celebrate?

I am very thankful today for the rain we received. I think it's the first real rain we've had in at least a year that has lasted longer than a few minutes. It's been steadily raining all day, and I hope it continues.

What are you thankful for today?

Just thankful that the Creator has given me another day in my life walk and that I am able to know my great grandson. I will honor him on the night of the full Moon.osay

Nothing. I am over sensitive today, crying because my dog had to put to sleep at last october. That is why I refused to remember days, like a day when my dad died. I know it was may but I do not know what the day was. I do not want to now. Life suck and I am mad.

Anyway Happy day to everyone .

This may sound a bit uncaring. I have learned bad days are worth the price as they are the result the good. Every bit of joy we have in life leaves us with sadness when it is taken from us.

But, even knowing in advance that eventually there would be pain, it is worth it, to have had the good even if it was for just a short time.

May you have a Happy day also, and let your memories be of the good times you had of your loved ones and let that memory remind you that they are worth having had, always remember, the pain of today is worth suffering for the past joys. Let your tears of pain be turned into tears of joy over fond memories.

I cursed God(swt) when I lost my wife, now I thank him for letting me have had the time with her. That was something I have experienced twice in my life. I swore I would never want to repeat it, Yet I am now married for the third time and we both know a day will come when either I will cry over her or she will cry over me. But, even knowing there will be a painful day in the future, This time of joy is worth what ever pain the future holds.

Woodrow is quite right. I can only add: (1)The only sure-fire way to never make a mistake is to do nothing at all. (2) The only sure-fire way to never feel sadness or pain is to feel nothing at all. (3) The only sure-fire way to never lose a loved one -- human or non-human -- is to never love at all. In each case, the "cure" is much, much worse than the condition.

It is right, and good, to grieve and feel anger over such losses as you have experienced. In fact, it is necessary. It would be a terrible mistake to allow these feelings to permanently damage your spirit or your life.

Please accept my sincere condolences.

Thanks . I will though about your words later .

Right now I am stomach sick because my new dog is going to the same vet. It should be just regular hip checking but because dog has to sleep when they are taking pics.... I cannot be without thinking again and again how terrible I felt beside my dying dog. So someone else bring my dog to the vet and I am feeling sick at home and fear that something goes wrong .
