Should Christianity throw out the book of Revelations? (priests, Holy Spirit, Israel)

I am always non-plussed when ANYONE claims to understand Revelation, simple or otherwise.
Same here. I suspect there were some special mushrooms on the island of Patmos. It did inspire some great art and IMO the best Stephen King novel, though.
And so were those apocalyptic promises found in the Gospels and scattered about in the epistles, As Jesus NEVER came back, well, those goal posts had to keep on moving forward in perpetuity.
First, since 1st-century Pentecost Jesus is the head or leader of the Christian congregation.
That is allowing for Matthew 24:14; Acts 1:8 to be fulfilled in our day.
Before the start of Jesus' coming 1,000-year governmental rulership over earth happens, the good news of God's kingdom government would be proclaimed on a grand international scale earth-wide as it is being done today.
Never before in history has that happened. Even modern-day technology helps in making rapid Bible translation possible.
People throughout the world today have Scripture in their own mother tongue or native languages.
The ' goal posts ' have not been moved. Understanding of Scripture is clearer - Proverbs 4:18; Daniel 12:4,9
We are nearing the ' final signal ', so to speak, of 1st Thess. 5:2-3 when ' they ' ( powers that be ) will be saying, " Peace and Security" as a precursor to the coming great tribulation of Revelation 7:14, before Jesus, as Prince of Peace, will usher in global Peace on Earth among men of goodwill.

The book is written in the apocalyptic style of Jewish writing, similar to things in the OT, and was never meant to be taken literally. Unfortunately the less educated preachers of the last couple of centuries don't understand its roots in Jewish literature styles , and so you have the crazy uninformed stuff of Hal Lindsey and such.

As with the rest of Scripture, Revelation does have corresponding or parallel cross-reference verses or passages which helps make the happy ending of Revelation clear - Revelation 22:2 - All nations of earth will be healed.
We can understand the ' beasts ' of Revelation chapter 13:2 because of Daniel 7:1-7; 8:3-8, 20-25

Matthew, sorry my friend, but you are preaching to someone who was once part of THAT choir. I used to speak your language and believe what you are saying until a whiff of reality caught my brain. Wallflash debunked your whole story using the very book of Revelation on the previous page.

saying: "Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until after we have sealed the servants of God on their foreheads." And I heard the number of the sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:

Looks like 144,000 Jews to me...
