All of this has happend to guys I know personally. My cousin went to court last month. He got laid off in Jan and started working again in march. he was 4k behind. So he was paying 700 a month to catch up. He got a court summons. The judge gave him two options. 90 days in jail of 10 years probation.

First time he was behing in three years. And those were his choices. Makes a lot of sense. Hes actually catching up and his child is recieving money so what does the court do? Arrests him and he loses his job. So now shes getting nothing and hes getting farther behind. If he had taken the probation option he would then be paying over 1k a month in child support, probation fees, and court costs. So he misses one payment and the revoke him he goes to prison for 10 years.

And I love how people say things like " havent met the right girl'. LOL.,.... stupidest thing Ive ever heard. We all thought the were the "right girl" when we married them!!! You think we just said " hey i know this girl is gonna change in a few years and cheat or lie or take all of our stuff, but I wanna marry her anyway"? Get some common sense.

My exwife was an angel when I met her. I trusted her with my life. 8 years later she was the most hateful, evil, viscious woman I have ever known. Not to say men dont change too they do. It happens.

It would be a lot cheaper to have none of this.

I have to say it - Guys get screwed in divorce. Anybody who says different probably screwed some poor guy in a divorce.

I've never seen a divorce end fairly, not once.

In fact, as much as I love her and as much as I hate to say it, my own mother screwed my dad when they divorced. Hardcore.

I'd like to believe it's NOT hard-wired into a woman's genome, but take a look around, makes you wonder doesn't it?

Yep. Never will I put myself in a position where I can get taken to the cleaners like that. When a girl tells me about her dreams of getting married I just laugh and say, "Next!".

No thanks.
Here is what I don't get. The overwhelming majority of women work. A good chunk of married women (close to 30%) earn more than their husbands. But when it's divorce, all of a sudden all their mutual assets are "his stuff", and she's a b/tch for taking any of it. Why do some guys think like that? I guess it's because they view women as property as well. Sort of like if you had a cow, you'd consider the milk she produced your property. And if the cow wanted to take any of that milk away by legal means, you would be outraged at courts for allowing your property to not only walk away, but to take your other property with it.

Also, I'm tired of dispelling the myths about the "50% failure rate". All marriages are different, and percentages vary widely with economic status, education, religion, etc. I'd say, if you are a Christian fundamentalist and you marry a 20-year-old trophy wife from a much more disadvantaged background, expecting her to be a homemaker, your odds of divorce are a lot higher than 50%. If you wait until your mid-30's and marry someone within your class and a reasonable age range, they are a lot lower.
