Where Starbucks used to be and directly beside the McCafe.. the building steel framing is going up and I just know I've seen that shape before. My construction background is telling me it's Walgreens. But I've been wrong before. I hope I'm wrong. Any clues?
Also Corner of Dixie Forest and Atlantic/OldWakeforest they have cleared a long long vacant lot and I'm curious as well as to what is going to be built there. It's a fairly big lot so I'm curious as to what is coming here too.
I thought I read that a Sheetz was going up at the Dixie/Spring Forest/Atlantic site. Kinda hope I'm wrong ..... While we're at it what is going up at Spring Forest/401 ...... looks like maybe apartments ?
Just what N Raleigh needs, another 'Wal' anything .... i must be missing something about Walgreens especially. For me it's just an overpriced 'drug' store with odd sized items that make you think you are getting a deal ...... when I compare unit price to almost any other type store they are higher. That being said they must have a loyal following to be able to keep developing million dollar locations.
I hope that is not a Sheetz at Dixie/Spring Forest/Atlantic. They are just too much, so over crowded and busy they are the Walmart of gas stations. Not to mention in the preceding block there are already 2 gas stations and 1 at the same intersection adjacent. I do not approve. Raleigh used to have decent zoning but recently I am wondering.
crap !! oh well I hear they make some pretty good burgers and such and it will help to lower gas prices in the direct area. Of course the trade off is lots & lots of traffic and congestion. I also think those stations are 24-7 .....

They are 24/7, but I doubt you'll see "lots and lots of traffic and congestion." If anything, I think it'll bleed off some of the business for the location at Capital & Thornton Rd which always seems to be over capacity. Food's pretty good, coffee (especially their specialty coffees) is surprisingly good. Be sure to get a My Sheetz card to save $0.03 every gallon!
