The fact that you linked to a website that is dedicated to demeaning people based on their appearances is probably where the misguided animosity is coming from.
I disagree - the website is dedicated to demeaning people based on where they spend their money. As in - at Walmart.
Websites like mullet.com are based on appearances alone.
Opinions aside, though - the misguided animosity was in reference to the tag of "creatures" - which has nothing to do with me. I didn't refer to these people as creatures. I hope you understand the difference.

OH, I'm sorry. I didn't realize it was a good thing to demean people based on where they shop. Can I start demeaning those nasty people at Neiman-Marcus now?
Actually, Mundelein is about 40 miles from the Chicago loop. But the protest was very strong. Close by homeowners were very active in opposing it, and said it would be a 24-hour operation with truck traffic all night long. One property owner put about 100 signs along his property along the main road. Incidentally, there is already a Target, Home Depot and Best Buy in a development across the street, and nobody says boo about it.

Fire away - this is still a free country. I didn't qualify it as a good or bad thing - sometimes things don't have to be black/white, good/evil. I'd suggest that you do it by starting another thread, though, since this one is about Walmart.
This is not capitalism it is big business. About time Wal-mart got some of its own crap handed back to them.
Believe me. If Walmart wanted a Supervalue market (whatever that is), it would take it. Also believe me when I say I understand towns so business-stupid they shoot themselves in the head to prevent a headache.

I just don't think it's nice or classy to demean people. Not based on their appearance. Not based on their incomes (which when we demean people for where they shop, essentially we are demeaning them for not earning more money). Not based on their IQ's. Not based on what they do for a living.

By all means.
