You are right - American service members can "handle it". Do you know and understand the word "Fragging"?

If not, you might want to learn it.

military has lots of closet gays. if you come out of the closet there will be segregation.
the gays wont like that, many (but not all) are very interested in straights that they feel they need to help see that they are really gay. in no way do gays wana keep to themselves, they wana convert.
its kinda like jehova witness but in pink.

I think you'd be surprised how many of the straight service men and women, already know and accept the homosexual members.

People get this image of Big Gay Al running around in cut off BDU's and a tube top or something. Homosexual service men and women will have to meet the same dress code as the rest of the military. They will have to live by the same code of conduct as well.

This will change nothing, it'll just make things a little more fair. Its never been fair that a homosexual in a relationship while in must keep that a secret. I know lots of men and women who end up together while serving, with nothing happening to them.

if someone is willing to put their life on the line by serving our country, then they should be able to do so without fear or to hide about being gay, good grief
Obama is not going to do anything about it, he is pandering

Wow. If that is what can be expected, I just completely lost all respect for the American Armed forces.

Nothing more than a bunch of emotionally and socially immature frat boys with guns, apparently.

It's a wonder why the British Armed Forces (openly gay servicemen and all) are considered the BEST in the world.

I'm glad I'm retired from the military. We're about to be on par with the freaking dutch now.

No. The British. Ya know, the ones widely regarded as the best trained forces in the world.

America may be #1 in terms of size and technology, but the Brits have managed to get along just fine with integrated gay service members.
