Those that are fighting for their freedom and their homes
Rofl, are you referring to Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk?

If you believe this then you know NOTHING about how the world works.
In the first place, Russia didn't grow bored and leave Afghanistan. Russia went bankrupt in Afghanistan after turning the entire Islamic world against them(the Soviets had actually been allies with the Arabs during the Cold War).
In the second place, Russia CANNOT leave Ukraine with destroying itself. This is an existential war for Russia. If Russia loses, Russia will cease to exist. Which is exactly why the United States has been pushing this war(and the coup) over the objection of the Europeans.
This war was the result of America pushing NATO into Ukraine. Even Arestovich and Stoltenberg have come out and said it. In 2008, both Angela Merkel and Nicholas Sarkozy objected to the Bucharest memorandum which stated that Ukraine would join NATO. The United States pushed it anyway.
The question is, why was the United States willing to start WWIII to push Ukraine into NATO? Why did George Soros and Victoria Nuland go to Ukraine to orchestrate a coup? What does America want?
1) I am not hopeful that future generations of 200+ years will live in a comfortable world.
2) I am fairly certain Russia (and some others) will lead the way to irrelevance and even eventual obscurity.
3) The mathematical curve of exponential rise looks just like the curve of exponential decay. So the coming population bust will hit very hard and very fast.
1) Being comfortable is overrated. What really matters is happiness. Which is a complex idea whose causes are difficult to understand.
2) Paradoxically, Russia has the greatest future potential of any country in the entire world owing to its sheer size and abundance of natural resources. Europe's future is the bleakest of all. America's future is comparatively good as long as it doesn't fall apart owing to everyone hating each other because this isn't a real country.
3) The problem isn't that the Earth doesn't have the carrying capacity for its current population. The problem is that there simply aren't enough resources for the entire world to live like Americans. And for that matter, the resources that Americans do consume cannot last forever. Basically, the current world is unsustainable. The more the "third-world" develops, the quicker our resources are consumed.
gee i dunno, ukraine seems pretty united and stable and single minded of purpose - fighting illegal russian pillagers.
Unless there is sarcasm I'm missing, Ukraine is now required to add dyes to military gasoline, because oligarchs keep stealing gas meant for the military to sell elsewhere.
Seems like a corrupt country where the elites are concerned about profits more than beating Russia.
This guy is not on Ukraine's side. Funding for Ukraine has run out. He can schedule a vote to restore funding for Ukraine at any time, but he has not.
You ever see that movie the Money Pit? Funny. No one died. This has gone so far past the point of silly that you can't even say good money after bad. It was always going to be a stupid move to get involved in the first place.

Because why bother to actually look and see what is actually happening right? Ukraine is done and they know it now.
Lets say your right and Russia does ultimately take over. Can anyone way they really won? There have been what, 300k casualties, thousands of vehicles, hundreds of airplanes and helicopters, a lot of their military leadership, at least 10s of thousands of people who left Russia so didn't have to fight, all the sanctions put on them by much of the world, not to mention the sea power that was destroyed.
If that is winning a war I would hate to see what happens when a country loses one.
