There are a lot of people in the US who don't quite get the most commonly-held European stance on this.

We've been down this road before. A lot - as in a whole lot - of us spent decades either under Russia's thumb or looking over the horizon at the Warsaw Pact's massed tanks and landing craft. There was a window where you could deal with Russia, as long as you checked the paperwork really well. But she's not liked, she's not trusted, and people have dealt with worse, for lesser causes.

We know what happens if you let the tyrant nibble at borders. It doesn't end well.

Sanctions worked well in Iran, brought them to the table, until Trump threw it all away.

ISW Update 12/21/22

Dec 21, 2022 - Press ISW

The Kremlin intensified its information operation accusing NATO expansion of presenting a military threat to Russia. Shoigu stated that NATO’s military expansion near Russian borders, including Finland’s and Sweden’s NATO membership aspirations, necessitates an "appropriate" Russian response to establish a Russian force group in northwestern Russia. Senior Kremlin officials said that the accession of the Nordic states to NATO would not threaten Russia in spring 2022. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Finland and Sweden joining NATO would not present an existential threat to Russia in April 2022 and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Finland and Sweden joining NATO would not make "much difference" in May 2022

Interesting article. For now, the dollar is still riding relatively high, although cracks are forming everywhere. As predicted, nations are concerned about how the US has been trying to use the dollar. Nations are looking for alternatives to the dollar, and US/Western based systems. Historically sanctions have impoverished nations, but now there are so many nations on that list that they can work with each other with other concerned nations and their block is very large.

Suddenly Everyone Is Hunting for Alternatives to the US Dollar

King Dollar is facing a revolt.

Tired of a too-strong and newly weaponized greenback, some of the world’s biggest economies are exploring ways to circumvent the US currency.

Smaller nations, including at least a dozen in Asia, are also experimenting with de-dollarization. And corporates around the world are selling an unprecedented portion of their debt in local currencies, wary of further dollar strength.

The US is sending Patriot Missile system to Ukraine, and there will likely be more in the future.
The Patriot is the most successful anti-missile system in the world. It is used in 18 countries - Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Taiwan, Greece, Spain, South Korea, the UAE, Qatar, Romania, Sweden, Poland, and Bahrain. And soon, Ukraine. (I was surprised that Romania already has it)

Biden is going for broke. He has agreed to place the system and train the people. There are lots of articles and opinions in the internet, so I won't reference any single article.
Predictably enough, I am in favor of this move. How about you?.........
