So Gorusch was viciously attacked? I ask because I didn't pay a lot of attention at that time and he nomination seemed to go through the usual mechanics of back and forth that they all do. If I am incorrect on Gorusch, that's fine, but no one seems to have protested too loudly on that one.

Fortunately the senators don't care one iota of what is written here on CD. At this point there is a good chance 48 democrats will vote NO. Forty seven Republicans will vote YES.

The only uncertain votes are Flake, Collins, Murkowski and Manchin. Let us suppose that the FBI investigation is inconclusive as the testimony was, and no clear cut lies were told either side.

Flake is unpredictable. He is not seeking reelection and might vote NO. Collins and Murkowski might need to satisfy their constituents and their party if they want to win reelection. If they vote YES then Manchin might vote YES to save his seat. But if one of them vote NO he is in a quandary. Does he vote NO and defeat Kavanaugh and in the process cause his defeat a month later or does he vote YES to confirm (via Tiebreaker) and also increase his chances of winning.

It might come down to the wire.

Flake has to vote yes if the FBI reports come back with nothing....he said he was going to vote yes and just wanted the FBI report to satisfy the Democrats and "united" the country.

he votes no and he will probably have to move out of Arizona and be on the witness protection program in San Francisco and he will be a stain in the GOP party forever.

the other 3 just want the FBI report for cover.

I believe the Democratic Party in fact does. Reviewing the meaning of the word comrade I would say most fall in the 1. category and some in the "fellow socialist" category.

Comrade-
noun

noun: comrade; plural noun: comrades
  1. a companion who shares one's activities or is a fellow member of an organization

  2. a fellow soldier or member of the armed services.

noun: comrade-in-arms
<li class="vmod">a fellow socialist or communist (often as a form of address
I have no idea what the consequences, if any, will be for the lying--but that's a separate issue from the fact that he lied. You don't need to read "an opinion piece." You can, however, read a report of what happened and how many people contradicted his (often ludicrous) lies.

"Comrade" is known for being a communist term. Don't believe I've ever seen you call a Republican your "comrade."

Here's my take: whichever party wins this battle - the other will be more motivated for Mid-terms.
The blue tsunami will sweep away all the stench of old men conservatism that came in with the orange garbage.

And all of this because the dems are panicking over a conservative serving on the Supreme Court.

Any conservative that is nominated will be viciously attacked. All they want is to delay, delay and delay to hold off voting until after the midterms with the false sense of security that the left will control congress and then they can jump and down with glee with the prospect of impeaching President Trump.

I'd question Kavanaugh's mental state IF he didn't throw it right back at them.
I'm not even going to address Kavanaugh being upset at the people who are actively participating in an attempt to destroy his career, and character, because there is no more moral, and ethical justification for being upset than for what these vile people did to Kavanaugh.

This is the second time the democrats have lead the most disgusting character assassination against one of Trump's nominations.

This has to stop, it must be stop, the democrats are destroying this process, and preventing qualified people from wanting to serve in these important government positions.

The Party of Trump has declared war against women. They did so by propping up an avowed serial sexual assaulter and they continue by demeaning and belittling an assault victim while trying to shove through a highly questionable SC justice.

Women turned out in the millions to protest the assaulter in chief. They will turn out in equally large numbers next month.

The GOP has cooked its own goose here. They will reap as they have sown, and will probably profess shock that women are so angry and pretend they can't understand why.

Kavanagh lied to the Senate, then lied when he went back to deny the charges.

If he is willing to lie about his teenage drinking issues, what else is he lying about?

My guess he is lying about a whole lot of stuff.

Time to pick a new nominee from the list the Federalist Society gave Trump.

Typical leftist-fanatic tactic. What makes you think there will EVER be another conservative candidate "without questions in their past"? Democrats will simply make up issues and "ask questions", as they are doing now with Kavanaugh, and try to pretend that their questions are sufficient reason to derail his candidacy.

If he stepped on a crack in the sidewalk in high school, he's out. And if he didn't, the leftist fanatics will simply announce that he did, and challenge him to prove it's not true. Just as they are doing now with Kavanaugh.

The good news is, the leftists are training normal Americans to realize they never have any basis for their questions, and that they are not worth listening to.

That's really the point here. Despite the Ford stuff, this guy doesn't have the moral compass to be a SC justice. He's a known liar, prior to the Ford stuff. You really can't trust anything he says at this point. Not sure why some are so hard in his court. There are about a list of 90 justices right behind him that are probably better...Trumpers, you'll get someone in. How about someone with some honesty. Spare me the nice church boy description. He's an entitled brat.
