The plan wasn't just to "win" and keep Kavanaugh off the bench... it was to permanently damage his credibility no matter how the confirmation went and to degrade the power/integrity of the Judicial Branch of government (vs the legislative branch) in general.
Now even if/when he joins the SCOTUS, Kavanaugh (once considered a squeaky-clean, wise and strong leader in his field with impeccable credentials) will always be questioned, doubted and/or thought of as that "drunk grab-ass frat boy judge" by the world at large.
Yep, exactly the same way the left continues to accuses Clarence Thomas of being unfit for his position on the court. The same way the left considers him an Uncle Tom because he's done something spectacular with his life. The same way the left treats Clarence Thomas like a house negro based on the fact that he's a well educated and qualified conservative on the Supreme Court.

Then the other... a group of people are discussing a MAJOR news story being reported on. They are going to all the usual sources and see something odd. They discuss the oddities that are not adding up as the investigation is continuing. They are so interested they dig deep into their research of every aspect of the location and the people involved. Many wild assumptions and paths are discussed. One of those paths was that it didn't happen at all and was an illusion staged to fool people in a direction against logical thinking. Once it all comes out and they see the Media was staging the scene, like they have been caught, no one still thought it didn't happen.
What is worse?
Thinking, wondering and discussion of the evidence, or outright falsely accusing someone of a crime, where there is NO evidence what so ever?

This is the beauty of it though. The left can call Clarence Thomas names till they are blue in the face and it never has made even a tiny little bit of difference. Clarence Thomas has been an excellent Justice with many years of public service despite Democrats trying to demonize him. He'll retire sometime in the next few years having served as long as he's wanted to on the Court and most people in this country have nothing but respect and admiration for the man despite tantrums and lies from liberals.
It's not an assumption, it's the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. We don't assume he didn't do it, we know he's innocent until someone proves him guilty... something that hasn't even come close to happening yet.

You'd think that the left had enough of lynching Thomas when he went through the hearings but I guess you people will never get enough of seeing him hanging from that tree.
