In this country, yes. Out in mainstream and at home.
No, I mean if you went on vacation to Germany or even ended up living there, you're telling me you'd ONLY speak German to your family and friends whilst in that country?

No he would not. 99% of immigrants do not stop speaking their native language at home in their new country, ESPECIALLY if they bring their spouse from their own country with them. There's hundreds of thousands of Brits living in Spain, that speak English with their British colleagues, and at home, and out in the "mainstream". Only a very tiny amount of people completely give up speaking their native tongue with people with whom they share their native tongue with, including English
No surprise. Calif. is infested with illegal aliens and other Hispanics who either don't want to learn English or can and won't speak it as their primary language of usage.
So you don't support freedom of speech? There is no official language in the US.
I thought this was great news since one of the claims by illegal aliens and their sympathizers is that the kids don't even speak the language of their mother country so should not be exported back there. Looks like they will be ready to speak their mother tongue the minute the bus crosses the border!

If I chose to reside in another country I would learn their language and speak it out in public. I never said that it wasn't ok to speak your native tongue in your own home. I don't expect the same from tourists.

I never said that, however there is a time and place for everything and there are cases when it's about rudeness. I never said that the U.S. has an official language. What I said is that the U.S. has a national de facto language and over half of our states have made it official on the state level. Reading comprehension is desirable in here.
No it isn't you are just xenophobic and don't like change.
