So liberals were not the ones enforcing Jim Crow laws? LOL!
The point still stands. Conservatives have a lot to be ashamed of, but by and large their legacy in regards to MLK and civil rights (namely the abolishment of slaverly) is not one of them.
You ignoring conservatives on this topic only shows your distinct lack knowledge when it comes to American civil rights history. Conservatives did not "despise him". Most liberals did though, up until Kennedy/Johnson and in Johnson's case it was largely for political purpose rather than any altruistic reasons.
Hint: Equal opportunity was not something created by the liberals to appeal to black people. That is core tenet of conservative ideology, that admittedly been lost over the past few generations. This is not say the hijacking of this principal was not denigrated by the liberals for political purposes, but I digress.
No, they weren't. And you know as much.
Southern Democrats constituted the most powerful conservative block in Congress.
SMH, conservatives and those that use words like *******. Reality check for you; MLK's dream was to handle race and race relations as mature adults. Color blind, does NOT mean, to zip it when it comes to talking about it at all (talking about race doesn't automatically equal racism, fools) and call anyone who has a legitimate beef and tries to fight it in some way a "race baiter".
No, we get it. Eternal racial agitation was the Dream. It was brilliantly conceived.

true-
MLK, unlike Jessie Jackson, Sharpton, Obama, and Farrakhan, was not a race baiter.
The modern liberal has highjacked the word "racist" to currently mean, "anything that does not agree with far left poitical views". Now, EVERY POLICY that Obama promotes is divinely correct and without question or reproach; if one does not agree with Obama, one is a "racist".
The problem with destroying the true meaning of a word is that it loses its impact when you really, really need it to describe a sitation or act. Ever hear of "The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf"?

MLK started a revolution but that ended when he was killed. For whatever reason his people are far worse off now than they were then. Sure they have more opportunities and laws protecting them, but look at their families. Look at the percentage of black babies born out of wedlock, look at the percentage of blacks in prisons.
Somebody ruined his dream for sure. I'm not sure who.
