Exactly.

Exactly.

How could they verify that he was Gates if he wouldn't talk to them and show his photo ID?

You can't verify someone's identity without seeing their photo ID. Gates apparently refused to show his ID.

Even if Gates did comply with the officers' request to come out and talk to them, if he was rude to the officers (for example, throwing his ID in the officers' face), he could have been arrested for disorderly conduct.

I guess Gates, being a Harvard professor, felt that he need not lower himself to dealing with what he regarded as peasants (the police.)
I've read the police reports. According to the police they were able to verify Dr. Gates identity and the fact that he had a legal right to be in the home. They verified this while in the house. Being rude or stupid is not a crime. If it was there would be a lot of people that could be arrested.

For most of the last 50 years various people have been neutering Dr. King's message which is why we can now have a Dr. King memorial in Washington DC devoid of Dr. King's most challenging prophetic statements.

It is a crime to disregard a direct request from a police officer and people of ALL colors have learned that the hard way by being placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.

How many times has anyone seen a person use the term "whites"............... Think about it.

Anyways, Doctor King would likely judge individuals, not the entire race.

You actually went to the trouble to read the police reports?

I doubt it, and I doubt that the picture you are painting is accurate.

I also note that you still won't admit Obama's bias against the white officer even while admitting that he didn't know what had happened.

Obama and liberals = racist against whites.

Feel free to due your own research. The city of Cambridge performed its own study of the incident; the results on which are available. The study is critical of both the arresting police officer and Dr. Gates.

Conservatives did share and have shared Dr King's dream for years. We just don't focus that much on race. If anyone can't handle race relations like adults, then it all falls on the liberals. The pointing finger from the left can just as well point right back at it. It's all that they focus on, what with this group called Black Lives Matter (And No One Else's Does) wreaking havoc in big cities.

Yes, because he certainly wouldn't have wanted to rescind the profitable rent seeking tool of never ending racial complaining and tension in favor of equality under the law and relatively harmonious racial peace.

We get it.

you don't focus that much on it since you have the same attitude that kids have about the tooth fairy when it comes to race
