The police officer that arrested this kid should be fired. Period. The principal of this school should be, too. This is digusting. Can you imagine the lack of respect this decision is going to create in this school?
Why? It sounded like the officer was doing his job in the article.
A 16 year old high school student in South Carolina was suspended and arrested for writing a story about shooting a dinosaur. The teacher saw the word gun, freaked, and police were called to search his locker for a gun. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, and has a 1 week suspension from school. Good grief.
This is what zero tolerance gets you. Well that and everyone having to cover their azzes because they would be crucified if this kid EVER did anything bad with a gun in the future.

Well that is what happens after every school shooting. Everyone wants to know what the warning signs were and why didn't anyone do anything when they saw them.
And yet when a kid brings a gun to school and shoots up other students, you guys act shocked and confused on why this wasn't caught sooner.
Joking about getting business done with a gun isn't a funny joke. This isn't anything about being a police state, this is about understanding that we have a gun problem in our schools and it isn't good to overlook potential warning signs anymore.
Most of Hollywood's movies are over the top gun filled entertainment, yet people say nothing. A story is written and people are becoming outraged.
