I am not proposing gun bans, I am just saying that the comparison to cars is a very weak one. Cars are designed for transportation, and hardly ever used as murder weapons, while guns are designed to take life, and are the weapon of choice in most murders.
No, a gun is designed to fire a projectile accuratly over a distance at velocity at a target. The human decides what the target will be.
That said cars are designed to transport people. How the person drives the vehicle determines how safe it is. Both can and will kill when misused. The fact is that more people die from auto accidents than by gun shot wounds. Once again its a biased slant given how many homicides are committed by illegally purchased weapons that no law would prevent.
Guns are the weapon of choice no arguing that point. Thats why I have no issue with accountability. I do take issue with punishing people who don't break the law.
My prayers are with her along with the girl and judge who were murdered. You may not agree with her politically but assassination is not the way to express your views.

Amen. As I said earlier, there is NOTHING worse than death. Guns create death. Why legalize them? I don't believe an object can be inherently evil, but guns are about as close to that as is possible. You can defend your house with nonlethal means.

Me too. Her neighbor took her to the event so she could see how her government works. She had just been elected to the student council.
I can't imagine what her family is going through.

Yeah, it's so far right that it re-elected a DEMOCRAT to office THREE MONTHS AGO. One terrorist does not reflect upon the entire population. If the entire state turned right, Gifford would have lost so your theory is completely asinine.
And this was not a case about bigotry and prejudice. It's sad that some uneducated people are trying to turn this into an anti-Arizona thread. This was the act of one crazy individual whose motivations were based on political ideology not bigotry.
