I think there's quite a chunk of life long Democrats, who come from a blood line of life long Democrats, would be quite surprised to discover what party their beliefs REALLY affiliated with - if they took the time to stop drinking the Kool Aid and thought about their vote instead of punching a straight Dem ticket the entire time.

In other words, "you're an idiot if you don't think like ME!"

Is that the implication here?

It's no big shock but you obviously missed the point of this thread and it's real meaning.

I'm a married white conservative Tea Party supporter, I don't really like Democrats or Republicans but 95% of the time I side with Republicans because they tend to be more conservative.

I'm 100% in support of gay marriage, civil unions, whatever gay people want. It doesn't affect me in any way, let them be happy if they want.

I'm very much pro-workers rights therefore I'm anti-labor union since all they do these days is collect dues and spread corruption.

I'm 100% in support of repealing DADT now, there's no reason why a gay person shouldn't be able to openly serve his/her country.

I'm pro-life but I fully support a woman's right to choose what she does with her body. In my honest opinion, any woman who's willing to abort her child shouldn't be forced to raise one and probably wouldn't do a very good job of it anyway so save us all some trouble down the road.

I 100% support cutting our military spending budget by 25% across the board.

I 100% support ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, not just renaming them while leaving thousands of our troops to fight and die in a war under a different name. I also support closing down military bases all over the world and bringing those troops home to protect our border instead of South Korea's.

I'm sure there are tons of other reasons why liberal progressives fear me but these are the few that came to mind.
Backspace I am a liberal & I do not fear you or your ideas, in fact I wish there were more 'discussions' among conservatives & liberals instead of the hardcore 'party' followers.
You have many beliefs that we can agree on. I sometimes shy away from posting anymore because of the pi***** contests that go on in these forums & honestly, sometimes they do amuse me. (as did your previous thread)
I will never be 'cocky' enough to believe that ONLY my opinion is the one that everyone should have or adopt, & I absolutely love that we are all different & can live together.
So it is not 'fear' my friend, on That, we do disagree.

Reality check for you.......

With all of the bickering back and forth that we all do here on C-D....no one really has a "fear" of the opposing viewpoint or of changing viewpoints.

To assume otherwise is simply a case of inflated self importance.

The RW seems to think that many of the rest of us (including moderate Repubs, all 2 of them left) are "afraid" of many things: Sarah Palin, Christine O'Donnell, the Tea Party, Mark Rubio, and now (drum roll). . . . Backspace! Sorry to disappoint.

I think backspace will be voting for Ron Paul :-)
Of course he was probably a Ron Paul supporter. In fact the limited government message coming from Ron Paul makes every Progressive shake in their boots and ask Jimmy Carter for a hug. They might never win an election again come 2012 if Ron Paul runs.

To answer those who say the tea party is not full of people like backspace where do you think the grassroots came from in 2008 we were the kings of money bombs and tea parties.

Ron Paul 2012.. end the fed the income tax and restore freedom.
