Bingo…who’d a thunk shutting it down and printing and borrowing huge amounts of money to pay folks to sit on the couch for so long would have such consequence, lol. Sheer genius.

as a very regular PAT bus rider, other than having to wear the goddamn annoying mask this whole mandate clusterf*ck, free fare thing is working out great for me

the 64 is my bus and it's too essential to blow off so it still shows up on time and it's free - plus i'm still unvaccinated for covid, whatever that is (or was)

it's a win-win!

maybe if things get really bad not only will the bus be timely and free - they'll start handing out cocktails or have a keg available

had a very chatty driver on the 64 yesterday who was not wearing a mask, told me he got the J&J shot and said he thinks port authority is using the mandate situation to downsize and ultimately provide fewer services

also said PAT is a terrible company to work for but admitted it does provide good service

Vaccine mandate update: Port Authority fires four, returns 28 to work with one dose on probationary basis, six retire

https://www.post-gazette.com/news/tr...s/202203220108

"Four Port Authority employees were fired, six retired and 28 were allowed to return to work on probation after the first round of disciplinary hearings for violating the agency’s vaccination mandate against COVID-19.

The agency has had an increase in missed trips because it doesn’t have enough operators working to operate every trip"

Sounds like a horrible job to begin with.

Using mandated to provide less services doesn’t make much sense, but shutting it down, ridiculous mandates, etc…, have consequences.
