truth is, the army corps handled that rather well, and it wasnt a national defense issue, so the prez at the time didnt "drop the ball", like some idiot at the bowling alley told me. if anyone 'dropped the ball', id say it was the governor of Louisiana, and the racist mayor of new orleans (who wanted a "chocolate city"). it is the state's responsibility to make sure those levees were functioning and whatnot. the federal govt. just disperses the money. or something like that....i'm no expert.
The Corps accepted the blame for the levee design, after a judge ruled that they were responsible and that there had been known defects for 40 years, so I'm not sure what you're saying here. I don't see what politics or racism or any of that stuff have to do with anything; engineering is pretty unforgiving like that. Stuff works or it doesn't work and it doesn't matter who's in office.

From the look of the county map, a major new cluster has emerged in Kennedy Township, with 48 cases. I take it this is nursing home related?

Well, we had a good run.
So now you’re expecting this here?

Are you simply watching every media outlet, and assuming what you think is happening/going to happen are real, or do you have facts you’re not posting?

Caring heights nursing. Again this can be managed. Nursing homes are the reason for the numbers.

These droplet are supposed to be smaller than one-ten-thousandth of an inch and mean business. It's in the wind.

All of this could have been prevented if people didn't fornicate so much and live so close together.
Since I been in Pittsburgh there is a line to do everything like it is normal to wait in line. You expect a line where ever you go. You wait in line in traffic before to go wait in line. I have seen lines to go to the bathroom. We need social distancing, not lines.
When a story is still developing media always get the facts wrong, initially.
We go with the latest and throw out what we know isn't true.
This has to disseminated fast so we can act.

According to Gov. Wolf, a county must have fewer than 50 new cases for every 100,000 people for a fortnight.

https://twitter.com/GovernorTomWolf/...62939980312580

So, Allegheny County's number for the past two weeks are: 15, 11, 21, 22, 62, 26, 7, 17, 29, 61, 28, 21, 13, 13, 11, 38, for a total of 395 new cases.

The population of Allegheny County is 1,223,348 people. So, if there are 395 new cases out of 1,223,348 people, that means that the new cases represent .0323% of the population.

The allowed amount of cases to meet the criteria for reopening is 50 cases per 100,000 people which is .05% of the population. So, Allegheny County currently meets the requirements in terms of number of new cases.

As long as Allegheny County stays under 611 new cases for the rolling two-week period, it meets the requirement set by Wolf.

On Friday, he is slated to announce which counties will move forward with the next phase of re-opening. I am curious to see if Allegheny County will be included; I don't see why it wouldn't be.

Agree I don't see a REASON why it wouldn't be but honestly I don't expect it. I feel like he's going to hold back just because we are a larger area and it makes him nervous. This entire process, just like which businesses could operate, feels way too secretive. They are elected officials and their processes should be transparent, we don't have to agree with it but we should at least know it.

His process just gives some metrics in order for him to consider what he will do.
