Wheat beer is for breakfast.

Count me as also not a particular fan of the IPA craze. I just don't understand why people these days like heavily bitter beers which taste like nothing but hops.

Give me a well-spiced whit with hints of orange and coriander (or even black pepper), or a nice porter, or even a good Flemish sour, however, and I'm in heaven.

Edit: Lagers generally just taste like water to me, but I do like a good dark bock when I can find one.

You usually see more wheat beers on tap in the summer, porters and stouts in the winter. Obviously they're not all seasonal, but that's what I've noticed.

Fun fact, my dad mentioned that when he was a kid, bocks were spoken of by the old-timey German-American folk as a sure-fire laxative.

A nice cold wheat beer hits the spot on a hot summer's day. Oberon makes a good one. I also like Erdinger.

Some IPAs are well balanced and taste good, but I think most are just too bitter / hoppy. They are definitely a fad right now though, so they are everywhere. Try a belgian blonde or amber ale instead.

Yes, Bell's Oberon is really my favorite summer beer. Glorious stuff on a hot day.

I can't drink Shocktop or Blue Moon since I supporting the big conglomerates who are doing their best to ruin beer.

I'm looking forward to these guys, shouldn't be too much longer: The Brew Gentlemen Beer Co.

All three of those look interesting. I'm not typically interested in IPAs, but their wording about not going crazy with hops might change my mind.

I don't really drink that much beer, but when I do I tend towards trying to find things that are wheat, malty, that sort of thing. I like when they've bothered to calculate the IBUs, because then I can head towards something low.

I think almost all wheat beers are Lagers. there are tons of different types of Ales with different color/weights though you may want to try if you haven't. most are not bitter like IPAs. you may like some better than wheats.
