When I was in South Side, the Serbian Club on Sarah & S. 26th St. did a good fish fry.

Get ready. I'm pretty sure Antney's Ice Cream in Crafton reopens from their winter hiatus in April. Best ice cream in Pittsburgh as far as I'm concerned.

Yes! I still have my stamped loyalty card from our visit there together. Wonderful place!

I wonder what exotic flavors Anthony will come up with this year? Let's go and get their wonderful ice cream. We can debate the reality of Pittsburgh's housing crisis!

Have you ever tried Handel's on Lebanon Church Rd. across from the County Airport?

Anyone been to this Brookline bbq/fried chicken joint in Brookline yet (Smokehouse Bar & Grill)? PGHYinzer?

BBQ, fried chicken and po' boys in Brookline

The buttermilk-brined fried chicken sounds intriguing... also excited that this place is open late (midnight most of week, and 3am on weekends!).

No, I'll add to my list of places to try. In addition to being wonderful, Antney's is about a mile from my house. Doesn't get much better than that.

Can you tell us more about Handel's?

Not too far from my house. I'll have to try it. Found one review on Yelp. She loved it: The Smokehouse Bar & Grill - Beechview - Pittsburgh, PA | Yelp

I have not...I heard about it, and then found out it was next to Señor Frogs on West Liberty. I believe it was the old Car Hops place. Señor Frogs was beyond shady, so I never even considered stopping in this place.

‘Bama’s Southern Kitchen is opening soon on Brookline Blvd so that may be worth a shot.
