I've just had a phone call and someone is trying to get me to travel up country in the next couple of days for something none too important. I really don't want to go mainly because the weather is so horrible at the moment- there have been quite a few floods in the general area.
Yep! Driving in poor weather really saps your energy. Being at full alert under adverse conditions can be quite demanding. Consider the risks, the probabilities, the gains and decide!

Yeah I hate those white knuckle events, just wears me out when you need to go for hours in it or even driving late at night bothers me now. Earlier in life I never even thought twice about driving in the dark but now days if I can avoid it I do!
I don' drive in bad weather. I see no reason to put myself or others at risk by doing something that isn't necessary. Heck I don't even drive at night very much.
I don' put myself in any potential danger that I can avoid. Here's an example. DH and I planned a trip to NY...Long Island. You have to drive through NYC to get to the Island. Anyway. hubby wanted to go on September 11 which was a Sunday this year. We like to travel on Sundays. I told him we aren' going anywhere near NYC on 9/11. I'm sure the city would be on extra alert and I want no part of it. We left on Monday
Yikes.........I've driven in some stuff that was horrible........snow, rain and ice. A drive that should have taken 30 minutes took about 1 1/2 hours. I really didn't think I was going to make it home from work that night. When I finally got off the highway the country roads hadn't been cleared and I pushed snow with my car. I had a a$$hole of a boss and he would never let me leave early because of bad weather even though I lived the farthest away. Trust me, we were not busy.........nobody buys cars in a snow storm.
I don't mind driving in terrible weather as long as I have plenty of time to do it.
I do mind all the "nuttos" who drive acting like it's not terrible weather and risk the life of all the other drivers being careful.
