A very good morning to all you peevers, and a very special Thank You to AksarbeN for doing the POTD in my absence.

I had a short break, staying in Ypres (Ieper) in Belgium, and travelling around there and the Somme area in Northern France. I was with a group of colleagues/friends on a Battlefield Tour.

One of my colleagues is a Battlefield Guide (Docent?) and she gave us a fascinating insight into one of the bloodiest and most awful campaigns in military history.

The tour was almost perversely in the most beautiful of surroundings with the most gorgeous Autumnal weather and light, as I hope my photos will show.

Ypres and the surrounding area was completely flattened and destroyed during WWI and bear in mind that when you see these buildings, and even the trees, they are post WWI.

Oh, I almost forgot- a peeve!

Peeves seem almost an insult after what I have learnt about these past few days, but we're lucky that we can freely peeve away!

Today's peeve is inspired by my inability to find the photo file of tour photos I set up.

The POTD is;

Where the heck is that file I stored on the computer!

I've find the photos but not where they should be.

Here is the rebuilt centre of Ypres. It is absolutely gorgeous;

Sadly this is the result of the campaign;

Here is a shot of part of the Somme in Northern France, the scene of a battle involving the 36th (Ulster) Division;

I hope to follow up with more photos when I get the files sorted out!

Wow do I understand this one! I have found files inside other files and have no idea how I managed to do ti without even knowing I did! Apparently, I'm really, really good at it! LOL
But if that's not bad enough, I tend to put things in the strangest places in the house, these days. Good grief!
Great Peeve Jezer, as always!

I blame software, I've learned to try to do thing manually. I still lose things though, not just on the computer!

Great pictures Jezer.
They've made me think of all my relatives that never came back from France.

I'm still trying to find things that I copied from my old laptop to my new one. I just created several generic folders to dump things in and it takes me forever to locate anything. I keep telling myself I need to reorganize old data, etc. so I can find it more easily, but . . .

Great pictures, Jezer. It's hard to believe so much death and destruction occurred in such an idyllic setting

Arrrgh! Naming a file with something I'll never forget then wondering what the heck that name was. Sliding one folder into another, missing and putting it in the folder above!

Lately I'm using the document search feature a lot and also the email search since I keep a lot of info in email.

Not to worry anymore about where those files are lost in the computer. MS windows 8 is now available and there’s a whole new set of problems to figure out for the next couple of years. LOL

I need to vent about a peeve of mine and here seems to be a good place

When you let one car out of a parking lot, and everyone else behind them thinks you should let them out too.

Gah!
