Queens Plaza and Queensboro Plaza stations should be connected.
Actually, they plan on doing some work on the northern section of the line in a few months, so they'll be putting in a (temporary, though who knows, they might make it permanent in the end) MetroCard transfer so people can connect from the G to the M.

Get rid of the Z train just like they did to the 9. The 1 line is still a great line without it's brother.

How can anyone say that the G train should be eliminated? If you live in the right place the G train is perfect for getting to queens avoiding the manhattan mess. Also the G runs through hipster land so that's a plus.

If you live in the middle of bed stuy the G is also perfect since you'd be too far from the j line and A/C lines.

(There are only five Z trains run each rush hour, by the way).

As to the W, its only real purpose is to provide extra service out of Astoria. In truth, the two-track terminal at Ditmars Boulevard can't really handle two lines. Adding an extra N train every hour (=6 or 7 minute headway) and eliminating the W would work very well.

The station with the least use in the entire subway system is the Bowery (J,M,Z lines), which serves barely 400 people an hour.

If they got rid of a line, say the V line, that doesnt mean that all the old trains were gotten rid of and the M line would be more crowded. Theyll just put more M trains.

Unfortunately, I think he slipped off the raft.

It shouldn't be a matter of closing lines. It should be a matter of closing stations.

There are way to many local stations. Most of the train lines should run express with buses acting as shuttles to get people to express lines if some folks are too lazy or can't walk .5 miles.

Take the 2 in brooklyn for example. The first 7 stops are all .4 miles or less apart. Should there really be a train stop every .4 miles? I can walk .4 miles in 5-6 minutes. Train stations should be at least a mile apart. The 2 is brutal in Brooklyn between Nostrand and Flatbush. That stretch alone takes more time than Wall St to Nostrand and its half the length (5 miles v 2.5 from Nostrand to Flatbush).

This is where the MTA can really upgrade train service. This business of having a trains stations within 5 min walking distance of each other is utter stupidity and creates unnecessarily long commutes.

I'd be more than glad to walk an extra 5 min towards a subway station but save 20-25 min on my commute.

There is no V line. The M replaced the V in Manhattan and along the Queens Blvd. section quite a while ago.
