Instead of ruining a vital service just make another option. The E train was supposed to go down Merrick Blvd but idk. The Q5 SBS (Merrick Blvd) was cancelled too (stupid NIMBY's but Merrick has bad parking too).

A subway line from SE Queens northwest to Jamaica then north to Flushing with a branch heading east to NE Queens and a branch heading west to wherever is something I fully support. People don't realize how much travel there is between Jamaica and Flushing, I think the Q20/44 is the 4th busiest route in the city plus you have other high ridership corridors.

On the weekends when the E train is local I take the Q44 to LIRR in Jamaica. It's a quick trip from Parkchester to Flushing but you're right it seems like forever to get to Jamaica from Flushing. And from Parkchester to Jamaica there have been many times when it was standing room only. Makes you want to push an old lady out of those single seats. JK. Seriously, they should start using the double sized buses on that route.

BTW, when did the MTA take over all the Queens bus routes? I remember companies like Liberty lines running many eastern Queens routes.

as it stands now all lines are needed the Z isn't really an additional line just a skip stop variant of the J line during rush hours one way only much like the old 9 train Z or no its the same amount of trains on the line. The B train is probably the only supplemental line left as the W was canned and the M took over for the V train for the most part however the B is a pretty busy for a supplemental line as the Brighton line especially on weekdays is far to crowded for one train its needs the B and Q and that is evidenced by crowded B and Q trains and the fact they both go to very different places......also people dissing the G should stop it for many out there in Brooklyn and Queens where its runs its often the only game in town.

The 21st St. station on the G always seems underutilized.

The "S" line in Brooklyn is a waste of resources.

The "G" should be expanded, not abolished. If it were a convenient way for someone from Brooklyn to get to Citi Field/LaGuardia or JFK, it would be full of win. The problem is, it's not.

I too think that the G line should kept in place. Perhaps it could connected to the former Rockaway rail line (if that is ever reinstated as a train line).

The G train should be connected with the J and the Atlantic Ave. station and should run as an express train to Coney Island south of Church Ave. The A should also be connected with the Atlantic Ave. station.

Queens Plaza and Queensboro Plaza stations should be connected.
