Adaptation. Nice to finally see the film that everyone mentions in response to mentioning of Nic Cage's countless poorer roles! Admittedly, he was good.
I'm a huge fan of old movies, and just watched a crazy one..."The Lost Weekend" starring Ray Milland, a young beautiful Jane Wyman, and directed by Oscar-winner famed director Billy Wilder. 1945. Tackles the heavy subject of alcoholism. The movie was made way before it's time if you ask me. Very gritty movie about a guy who's been 10 days sober and goes on a 4-day bender. Really shows the darkness and tragedy of alcoholism. Won Best Picture of 1945. I recommend it to those who love old movies and can handle the heavy subject. It would probably be a good movie for recovering alcoholics to watch.
