It's Men&Women of Steel Sunday (did a Peel&Steed Avengers as an opener) and I have a small collection of the Sharpes, so it seem appropriate for today to take in the next one, after Rifles.
Nice excitement for a lazy Sunday (short of had the PBS feeling to it....but that was just coincidence). Others may have their shortfall comments of the flick, but I liked it.
I saw It Happened on 5th Avenue (1947) for the first time on TCM last night. I knew nothing about his film but absolutely loved it. A nice feel-good movie.
We-ll........it is obviously a comedy but rather qualifies as a spoof.......just back in 1960, I didn't know they made such things.
My copy comes off a bargain pack and is listed at an hour and 24 minutes but IMDB lists it at 90 minutes. There are obvious cuts but I guess they are lost in time.
I started this flick way back in September, but couldn't get through it in one night and it sat unfinished till now when I pushed myself through it. Sort of like classic Dr. Who when he lands somewhere and trudges out the door to see.
Avoid it? Oh, give it a chance, but two things. First of all, watch it only for fun. And secondly? Don't watch it with PC comrades.
(Still) watching Crocodile Dundee in NYC., on the Sundance channel.
