It's been quite some time since I've been to the theatre to see a film, but I went today to see Brooklyn. I'd read and loved the book by Colm Tóibín, and this was a fabulous adaptation. Saoirse Ronan has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her lead role, and she was wonderful.
The boss of a major crime syndicate orders his lieutenant to bring a rogue gang of drug traffickers in line, a job that gets passed on to his long-suffering subordinate.
As the police launch a full-scale crackdown on organized crime, it ignites a national yakuza struggle between the Sanno of the East and Hanabishi of the West.
She's a cutie, but IMO Alexandra Daddario is the hotter of the two in this flick.
Funny you mentioned it, my thoughts exactly! It wasn't a fictional movie because of the "retuning from dead" part but a mediocre looking fella like Anton Yelchin would be able to hook up with two hot babes one after another. That chit is less likely to happen in real life than zombies walking around.

Right now I'm watching 'Explorers' with Ethan Hawk and River Phoenix. Watched it a bunch when I was a kid, but haven't seen it in probably twenty years.
An oldie but a goodie much like Stand By Me.

Wouldn't you know it Michael Pena was in one of the three last movies I watched, Antman. The movie was very fun and Michael did a great job as usual. The "I'm in the System? He-he-he..." part killed me.
The other was "Little Boy" good family flick. The little kid in me would wanna rate is 8/10 but overall it was more like a 7/10. A light but well-made drama that takes place in a small (fictional) California town around WWII. The cute little boy's acting was very enjoyable.
The last one was "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.". An odd title but movie was a fun action flick about 2 WWII spies, one American and the other Russian (pretty awful fake Russian accent). Entertaining but also a bit forgettable, overall; 6.5/10.

Some of us take the recommendations here seriously, so remember, with great power comes great responsibility
Oh brother
Not quite sure if you were complimenting or reproving but I'll heed the warning.
Lee Hwan is out of professional baseball after being involved in match fixing. He is recruited by gangster boss Jung Sang Ha to work for him as a loan shark. Over time Lee Hwan climbs the ranks of Jung Sang Ha's company as the game becomes one of blood, money and sex.

Every time either of the girls lusted for Anton's character, I was left scratching my head.

Both. The compliment was sincere and the reproving was in jest. I do however give the recommendations some consideration. If someone takes the time to come here and post a title of a movie they watched, I may look it up. If they rate the movie or provide a positive review, I'll definitely look it up and may put that title on my watchlist. I've done it more than a few times and the disappointments are minimal.
I've also gotten great recommendations for books, software and recipes. This community rocks!
