A few downtown business tidbits:

- The Insider Food Hall is in progress and shooting for a November opening (no word on vendors)
- Stevie's Gumbo Bar is still in process and shooting for a late 2021 opening
- Box Owt food court is in progress now and looking for a 2022 opening (no word on vendors)
- Mediterranean Sandwich is currently closed for remodeling and will reopen later this summer
- FOY is temporarily closed for reorganization
- Pizzeria Delfina has closed; awaiting their next move - according to a recent al.com article, it seems they are looking for bigger spaces
- Ace Hardware is opening on St. Louis Street, near the new St Louis Greer's location
- Socu Coffee Lounge is in progress and is shooting for a late 2021 opening
- BankPlus is opening in the lobby of the Merchants Plaza building
- W Food Bar is remodeling the old Von's space
- no new word on the food hall in the Trustmark Tower ground floor
- Wacked Out Weiner has reopened on Dauphin
- EDIT: The Social Experiment is opening this Summer (Government St b/w Joachim and Conception)

The ACE hardware store coming to St. Louis st. Is likely going to be run by Greer's. They own several Ace franchises in the area, mostly their stores inside some of their Cash Saver stores like the one on Cottage Hill Road.

It will a good addition to the area especially with the growing number of residents and homeowners.

I’m honestly surprised that nothing’s been said about this. I guess they’re building it in phases, so maybe when this greers finally opens they’ll release more details about it. I’m praying they’re not building that design that was released tho. That looks like a 1950s Yugoslavian prison
