Got on Soldiers Field Road yesterday and immediately stuck behind an Uber minivan going 20 mph. Of course, some idiot is driving in my blind spot in the other lane so I'm trapped.

The Uber van eventually puts on the right signal but then is weaving between the right and left lanes without pulling into either one, then pulls into the right lane to take a right into the Staples parking lot, practically stopping in the right lane before they get off the roadway.

Then on Western Ave., a middle-aged guy in a Prius blows through a red light in front of me.

Fortunately I work from home so minimize my driving, but I'm investing in a dashcam very soon.

And my car insurance went up $40 a month even though I haven't had a moving violation or even a written warning in 20 years.

she apparently had a previous OUI...but somehow became a bus driver. Im sure people are outraged but this is MA...we give lots of 2nd chances to lawbreakers.

Dashcams are great and so are brands that now have built in cams so you don't have to worry about wiring aftermarket. Mercedes, BMW & Tesla are 3 I know of that have them as options and I think as a standard on Teslas.

I always keep a car and a half distance minimum behind Ubers and car share drivers. Car share drivers are inexperienced and Uber operators incompetent to a high degree. I see a lot of hesitant, noncommittal driving, and erratic stuff coming from those guys constantly.

I always keep that distance behind any car in front of me. You never know who you're dealing with anywhere anymore whether it's an Uber or an unhinged soccer mom!
